A Social Enterprise: What Is It?

A social enterprise is based on the principle that it can make money while also benefiting society. A social company will probably employ people from various backgrounds and underprivileged communities. Based on experience and education, a social enterprise is likely to require different employment credentials than a conventional for-profit company. However, all social companies share a few traits in common. An organization's B Impact Score must be at least 80% in order for it to qualify for a social business accreditation. Social Entrepreneurship UK is the national organization for the social enterprise movement in the UK. This group, which was formerly known as the Social Entrepreneurship Coalition, advocates for social enterprise. Similar organizations in the UK, such Social Enterprise Scotland and the Social Enterprise Network in Wales, are also supported by this organization.
